Starbord side-block drain plug leaking

My brother just called me at work needing some help and told him I'd ask you all. He just started his boat up and the port side block drain plug is leaking. It is a different type of block drain plug. If you push it in, it will drain the block. Almost like a spring loaded type thing.

Here is the problem...the starbord side plug continues to leak. He said it will not not seal or build up the necessary pressure to stop leaking water.

I can't picture what this thing looks like. I would "think" its as simple as just buying a new block drain plug and installing it?

Thanks,
Mike

thats what i would think unless its cracked around the drain valve. if not, its just a bad one, through a new one on and go to the lake ;)

I would soak that fitting down with Liquid Wrench or something. Maybe use some heat. The last thing he wants is to have that fitting twist off in the block like it probably will.
