Bravo 1 experts, I need help?
I recently upgraded my old 91 Bravo 1 drives for a new set of low-water pick up drives. After I installed them, I was doing some checks and noticed that I have about an 1 1/2" inches of play moving up and down. It looks as though on both drives that the area where the trim cylinders connect to the rear of the drive is oval shaped not perfectly round like my originals. This is giving the 1 1/2" play I was talking about earlier. Is there an adapter on the new drives to make up for this play in each drive. I thought the holes for the for the bolt to connect the trim cylinders on the rear of the drive were suppose to be round. Am I missing something here? Are the castings on the newer model drives a little different, if so what is my fix? I never had this play on my original drives and it is not a gimble ring problem. Boat does have Latham sterring.

A little research was done. Rear tilt pin kits? Is this what I need, these are the HP drives, low water pick-up. If anyone responds, where can I get them and how much?

Re: Bravo 1 experts, I need help?
I have a nice pair of Bravo 1 2000 model (or could be newer) for sale. $2000 each. Will also offer with HP gimbals for a bit more. Rebuilt in 2003 with low hours. Have low water pickups.

Isn't there a rubber bushing between the bolt or pin and the bravo housing? is that missing?

Re: Bravo 1 experts, I need help?
Yup, there is a plastic spacer that fits in there. I have one you can have.

Re: Bravo 1 experts, I need help?
there is a white plastic spacer that slides in.it was made for the bravo 3 duo-prop so the drive could not be trimmed to far under and cause excessive bow steer.on a bravo1 the shim goes toward the front of the drive to achieve more negative trim.the mercury name is trim adjustment the part number is 808006 and list price is a whopping $2.80 each hope this helps

Re: Bravo 1 experts, I need help?
I think you need a new drive, Andy offered one. No, wait get a spare as well.

Re: Bravo 1 experts, I need help?
One more thing. If I have two drives, do I need 2 or 4 of these? I guess at $2.80 a pop I can afford to get 4.

951, just kidding, seems a lot of post jumping with classifieds as they are. You only need two of the spacers.
