Oil Filter Question
What kind do you use?
I'm just trying to figure out what to use for my 454mag. I bought a Baldwin, that was top rated on some link I found on OSO. It was too tall to fit where the merc filter was. :( So what do you use? |

Amsoil and Mobil-1 are the best oil filters for both flow and trapping particles to 1/10 of a micron. I know some Baldwins are racing designed and Ferrari 328's use them. So they are probably really good as are the K and N oil fliters. I just haven't seen them compared with more conventional filters. I am a bit of a fanatic in that I change my synthetic oil every 20 hours and the filter every 10 hours inbetween if running hard and about 100 hours a season the first several years the last couple years about 60/season. SO they are up close to 1000 hours and cranking.
