Re: MSD once again
Crane is also multiple spark (up to 7) at lower rpm. Goes to single spark around 3000 rpm and is lots nicer than MSD IMO.

Re: MSD once again
Hate to see anybody through anything away....IF and it a big IF you can't get the thing going like you like and decide to look into another system do yourself a favor and look at the D.U.I. system. http://www.performancedistributors.com/marinedui.htm
Put a question to the board and see what they think about the setup. I have run it for 2 years now and LOVE IT on a motor similar to yours...A couple of nice things about the setup are One it uses stock GM parts if necessary also they CUSTOM build every distributor to your needs. Also the coil is internal so its one less thing hanging around with wires going to/from it. Also the price is less than a module for a Tbolt system. Dennis Moore told me once that it was the "perfect" system for a performance marine engine running less than 6000rpm's. And according to D.U.I.'s site they can hook you up with one to cure that problem....Just a thought but Im really happy with mine and it was less than a MSD or Merc setup and has better performance. Re: MSD once again
Get rid of the MSD I have a self full of there junk Roush racing had 2 fail last night in less than 200 laps.I have only had 2 failures in 20 years of boating both caused by MSD products.Crane has the advance curves and rev limiter built in they are also digital MSD are analog (100 year old technology)

Re: MSD once again
You have popped your module. MSD modules don't like heat so put dielectric grease under it for insulation.

Re: MSD once again - follow up replacement
I replaced the module box today - fired right up. Hopefully it will last as I can not return it for a refund. Any suggestions to protect the module box??
