My money is on a connection. Solenoid won't cause everything else to stop working. I had the same problem, cleaned the terminals, cleaned the starter side, and it turned out to be the wing nuts on the top of termnals. Cleaned those up and tightned them, not a problem since.

Well, Roby, the hammer did the trick. Few taps while turning the key and started right up. Now it's just a matter of getting it changed out! Somehow I think it will be easier to type than to do.
