You don't want to blow an engine, but you're removing the oil coolers???

You need both the t-stats and oil coolers to keep temps constant and keep them reliable.

You need oil coolers. The reason they aren't needed in a car application is the oil pan in a car is always exposed to the air rushing under it and cooling the engines. Oil cooling lines are much cheaper than crankshafts, bearings, rods etc.

Talk about an oil leak, here's what I had after one day of running in a poker run. Took it in to the mechanic at noon one day and had it back by noon the next day. Total cost $347.

Don't even think about running without oil coolers! Engines that are under constant load like a boat engine need oil coolers. Even most light trucks that have factory installed towing packages have oil coolers. That's what the little radiator in front of the main radiator is. Some trucks have two of those things. One is for the engine and the second is for the transmission. The big rigs all have them. They are usually built into the engine and use coolant to keep the oil temp down.Have you ever seen the radiator on a semi? They're huge. Since a boat has no way to use air to cool anything in the engine compartment they also use water to cool things. The difference is that sea (or lake) water is used to carry the heat away.

Bite the bullet and get those lines replaced or it will get a lot more expensive. Good luck.

All the above! Don't even think about no oil cooler ESPECIALLY with a SC engine.

I just replaced my OEM coolers with Revolution Marine's. Big honkin coolers realistically priced.

Are you running oil temp gauges, if so what were your oil temps last year?

By the way..DO NOT RUN BLOWER MOTORS W/O OIL COOLERS.
