How do the lines that run from the drive oil bottles connect in the gimble area? I can trace the line back there but cant really see where it ends?

Merc had two different methods of attaching the line. One system uses a traditional hose barb and clamp. The second method used a nipple and socket simular to a air line. There would be a grey plastic tab that is depressed to release the fitting instead of the collar found on a air line.

Regarding the routing of the hose; merc has a service bulletin specifically instructing you on how to do this properly. They had some chafing problems with incorrectly routed lines.
