33 Outlaw w/twin 500hp's

I have a 33 Outlaw w/ twin 500hp's and my question is this:
The boat runs awesome at mid to top speed but when idling through "no wake" zones the engines seem to produce a "Rich" odor that is over bearing.
Any advise as to if the carb settings are appropriate or am I runnig to rich?

the motors are set rich from mercury. realy nothing you should do. leave them that way and the motors will last longer. all they are doing is loading up. when in the zone try keeping one motor out of gear. rev it a few times to clear it then do it to the other.

Treadwell

Scooby1, carbs or EFI? I have the same boat with carbs. I does load up a bit when I've been idling for a while. Treadwell's right on.

AC Rapid Fire #1 plugs may help a little. Prior to my blower install my 502 was a little rich. I switched from BR6SF to the #1 and it cleaned it up some. Would it hurt to just turn the idle screws in a bit?

I would give the idle screws a 1/4-1/2 turn clockwise in steps till the idle cleaned up. This certainly won't kill the reliability of the motor.
