Default Drive Coupler

I have a 1999 7.4MPI hooked to a 1997 Bravo drive.
The coupler exploded last night, probably an alignment issue.
Anyway, I was just quoted $380 for a new coupler.
Does this seem high?
Anyone know where I can get one mail order for less?
Thanks

I think this may be aftermarket stuff, but click here to view part prices:

http://ebasicpower.american-data.net...2/merchant.mv?

Was that the price to put the thing in, or just the part............cause you gotta pull the engineout to do it ? I know the original merc ones are a bit more than this.

Hope this helps,
RJ

List price $384 for the coupler only...
$75 per hour labor for the "experts" to screw up the alignment again.
I'll do the job my self.
30 pack of beer for my friend with the hoist.

Merc sells diffferent types couplers for the Bravo drives
Most OE Merc Mags couplers have an aluminum spline
I paid the extra $$$$$$ and got the one with a STEEL spline. They list it for High Performance, work boats and Trawlers.

I have one out of an HP500 with 80 hours on it. I only replaced it because I pulled the motor for a Gimbal repair. I'll sell it for $100 plus shipping.
