Question supercharger oil?

Does anyone know what type of oil to use in the supercharger on a 525SC?

My B&M 250 has Redline gear oil in it. It is also recommended to use Merc outdrive oil in the gears. I opted for the Redline as I did not see any need to have additives that will aid in case of water intrusion.

Whipple recommends 5/50 Castrol Syntec in their superchargers.

My Mercruiser Service Manual for the High Performance Engines says to use a good grade 90 wt. gear lube.It also notes that the 525SC has both front and rear oil resevoirs where the 600SC and 800SC have only a front resevoir. On the 525SC fill the front to the level on the dipstick. On the rear, fill until fluid runs out the hole. Hope this helps!
