I have a 1999 28 eliminator daytona cat twin HP 500's and I need some prop help. The people I bought the boat from said it runs a solid 100 mph on GPS @ 5300 rpm turning bravo1 4 blade 30p thru 1:36 gears. Well I can get only 5000-5050 rpm & a best speed of 95 but typically 92-94. The props are brand new I just bought them because the ones that came on the boat looked like they were messed with. The props are turning inward & I was wondering if turning out would give me bow lift or stern lift. The Guy I bought the boat from put 5K of new stereo equipment in the boat 4 months before I bought it & there are 2 12" subs in enclosures in the bow& 3 big amps also in the cabin & I think with all that weight up in the bow that might be preventing the lift I need to air out this cat. The subs & inclosure's weigh about 75lbs each and the amps 100lbs for all 3 of them so with about 250lbs up front that might be the problem. I am going to get the new props labed but I wonder if that wont help do to the weight. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cant comment on the Daytona specifically, but on many cats turning in will raise the stern. Turning out will not raise the bow as much as dig the stern in. This is because the best bite on the prop is from the clean water coming through the tunnel. This varies depending on drive mounting, steps, etc.
I've always tried to get the most boat out of the water, with the props helping to lift the stern and let the trim and air carry the bow.
The the boat feel bow heavy at moderate speeds?

Check your springs, you may be down on power. I had broken springs on my 1999 HP500s with 165 hours.

I do not think I am down on power. This boat was serviced by Teague Custom Marine and when I went out to california to look at it I met Bob Teague and his shop did all the work on the boat and he told me that these motors were notorios for breaking valve spring and they replaced them all. What does the moter do when a spring breaks? Turning the props out might solve my problem if it gives bow lift since the subs are way up front. The boat has 2 steps so I am not woried about stern lift.

Let us know the results. I suspect you'll lose more top end with the stern digging in more but again, it depends on setup.
BTW, have you tried it with the old props? Are they the same diameter, cup, etc?

Gary the old props were the exact same Bravo 1 30p 4 blades they were just knocked up and then the guy fixed them it went 2 -3 MPH slower with them.
