Power plus alum intake manifolds

Anyone know of power plus cyclone alum intake manifolds for sb 350 with vortec heads??? This came on the engine I bought with roch q jet carb. Here is the link to the web site. Should I bother switching to edelbrock??

Run it then make an educated decision

I asked this question before. I think the response was that they were cheap knock offs of proven designs. They might have to be machined to match the ports to get equivalent performance, but depending on your set up it might not make any difference. It might not be cost effective to switch it out versus performance increase.

Power Plus?!! Never again!
We used one when we repowered my buddies 72 K5 blazer last winter with a crate 330 HP vortech engine. (Obviously the cast iron head engine that comes without an intake manifold.)
Anyway That Power Plus manifold was the biggest POS I ever saw. All this reweld on the bottom side, by the ports. The final machining looked looked fine so we used it. Big Mistake!
The machined surface that meets up with block at the back of of the manifold Didn't meet up with the block correctyl. Two installations two sets of intake gaskets with and still a MF-erin' oil leak!
Popped an Edlebrock performer RPM (with that nice somethin'-star finish) and what do you know oil leak gone.
Upon closer inspection of the intake it was clear, that the machine surface of the manifold did not line up with the block (The dried silicone showed the impression left by the block, which didn't match up top the manifolds machine surface).
IMPORTED JUNK!
Steer Clear!
Thanks,
Dan

I have an Edelbrock Performer intake for the Vortec 350 for sale in the parts area.
Only asking $90...its new in box...also have a great roller cam to go with it if interested.

edelbrock air gap works great on my vortec 355.

Re: Power plus alum intake manifolds

I have a vortec cast iron intake stock style for 50 plus shipping if a high rise will not fit. It is made for a q-jet. The intake just has a couple of fresh water hours on it.

I switched for an airgap with a 600 cfm edelbrock and the motor has been happy for a couple of years. I run closed cooling so the aluminum is not a factor.

Engine running good but quadrajet needs to be richened up(major stumble with acc pump disconected while tuning and running lean) No leaks so far. I may put on the performer rpm over the winter as I dont want to loose time on the H2O

Thanks for the input - best forum around :) :) :)

Re: Power plus alum intake manifolds

That is just a typical chrome plated dual plane knock-off. I call it a knock-off because once you get to 4000-RPM that's exactly what it will do to your power. Forget that crap and toss the quadrajunk. Why some people want to use spreadbores I'll never know. Tuning them will make you pull your hair out. Oh and don't put a 4150 style Holley square bore on a spread bore manifold just because it is dual drilled. You won't be doing your engine any favors.
