Sealed 500 HP and Nickerson carbs
 

I bought two used 500 HP last year that were supposed purchased new in a fountain. I am finnally getting through the rebuilds and replacing the stock carbs for Demons and selling the stock holles when I wiped the grime off of them one had Nickerson stickers on them my motor guy also said one of the motors was a sealed motor which I had also noticed when I bought them. DId nickerson do carb work fo sealed 500hps?

Klaw,

The 500 HP's were all sealed, amongst those seals was one on the crankshaft pulley that had silicone seal on it, and 2 on the intake manifold. The Carb could be removed as there is no seal on those 4 bolts/studs as best I recall. So long as the throttle bore remained stock, same for power valves and jets, there wasn't much of an issue with the Holley carb. Hope that helps.

I had 2 "rebuilt" by braswell the best carb guy in the world.

I never had to use them, sold them and the boat I sold them
to went from middle of the pack to front of the pack.

And they passed inspection.
