Help with ride quality

Baja 252 islander

I have a problem with ride quality on my boat. The senerio is this.

Wind is coming out of the south and if I'm going west the boat will lean to the passanger side pretty bad.

Wind is out of the south and Im going east the boat does not lean at all.

Going dead into the wind or if the wind is to my back never leans.

Why does it do this? I don't have trim tabs at this time the only reason I would need them is for this problem.

Re: Help with ride quality

Typical deep vee handling characteristic.. just like 'hunting' at idle speeds.
An excellent reason to buy trim tabs .. something all vee hulls should have IMHO :p

My old Baja did that. My Thoroughbred did that. One word, trim tabs. OK, two words.

BTW - I used Bennet tabs on my Baja (a 1990 240ES) and they worked well.

Re: Help with ride quality

my 272 baja does the same thing,it's a caractoristic of single engine baja's,my bennet trim tabs take care of it and i even extended them with stainless to get rid of some of the high speed chinewalk (another evil thing my overpowered baja doe's). Also, the 4 blade prop makes it worse!
