Re: What is a good trim tab kit for Scarab 23
I've had the bennets on my 242ls 4 years and they probably came with the boat in '86. I have yet to have a problem of any kind. They work great and I really beat on the boat. One important thing I have noticed with any aftermarket bolt ons is that the installation is what makes them work better, and last longer. It seems that mine was done right. I have a set of Bennets from a 25' Sonic Mark Twain that I parted out if anybody is interested.... BBB

Re: What is a good trim tab kit for Scarab 23
With any tab you are going to scrub off speed and eat more fuel, if you are trying to trim because of weight make your friends move!If you are fighting big seas then they will be useful.Remember if you are trying to pin down the bow with the tabs don't trim the drive up and try to raise the bow.Don't go much past neutral on the drive .I don't use mine unless its ruff.If it is good seas and she starts to porpoise I just trim the drive under till she stops then start to trim the drive out again and see if she will go.If she starts again I trim the drive under again and wait till she stops then trim the drive out again but maybe not so far as the time before.

Re: What is a good trim tab kit for Scarab 23
Scarab22 I do not like running my 280 K planes down for anything but the big stuff the rest I can do with the drive with a lot less penelty, as I said on mine it will only scrub speed and you don't want the tabs down at high speeds even at netrual because I feel because it might cause me to come off a wake or wave in the wrong way and also if I come down stern hard off a wave I want my tabs up as you can put a lot of stress on them even when down a little.
