502 mpi wiring

Checking over my wiring and notice wiring is different than diagram. Can anyone tell me if their top plug or bottom plug on coil goes to the distributer. Thanks. 7 mm coil wire lead is facing towards the back of the boat on the port side.Thanks :rolleyes:

The reason I ask is my plugs look like they are burning strange. If you look in the merc manual it sais you have a reversed polarity on your coil. Mine is opposite of the diagram in the manual. If someone could look at theirs that would be great. Maybe the manual is a misprint. :)
