DO NOT DRAW IT WITH THE CRANK BOLT!!!!!! Use a damper install tool. I have seen to many times cranks with the threads pulled out do to this proceedure. Go to your local Napa and rent the tool. We sell thousands of these for a reason...............

I did just that, ripped the threads out of the crank using them for balancer install. The correct tool is very cheap and you will be suprised how easy the balancer goes on using it. Glad you found the prob.

Do not use the original crank bolt, I use a longer bolt with a nut and large washer, thread the bolt in first then draw on with nut and washer, never had a problem.

only will happen if your only catchin the first couple of threads. If you use a longer bolt and the mating surfaces are in good shape you'll be o.k.

Hey man!!! Long time no hear from you.....gauges arent in yet ...been a ***** of a summer engines in, out, in, out, Started to put the gauges in a couple weeks ago and the bezels I bought from Eddie Marine were to wide....sent them back and havent got the new ones yet but will soon!!!! You up and runnin????

Up and runnin now. Just tweaking her in. Lots and lots of little things but nothing to keep me from running. Not ready for poker runs yet.

Been doing a lot of work on other people's boats...just tyring to help but it's getting old.
