310 H.p 454mpi- Need More Power Cheap-help!
I BOUGHT IT FOR A 24' W/7' BEAM, NOW PICKED UP A 28' - 8'6 BEAM SINGLE ENGINE SLEEKRAFT (#3500 =/- HULL WEIGHT) AND I DONT THINK THE 310 WILL DO IT FOR ME.
GOT THE OPTION WITH A BUILDER TO BUILD UP A 502 TO 540/600HP FOR $4500+ MY LONG BLOCK. THE 454 IS AN '01 WITH 100 HRS. I KNOW SQUAT ABOUT ENGINES, IS THERE ANOTHER POSSIBLE BOLT ON OPTION THAT MIGHT GET ME TO A HAPPY MEDIUM IN THE H.P. AREA FOR LESS MONEY? ....YEAH I KNOW "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS TO MUCH H.P.!" but unfortunatelel my wallet disagrees. ANY HELP/ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. MIKE L [email protected] 207-549-4795 |

Unfortunetly your options for adding power to that 310 H.P. 454 are limited. The main reason is that this motor has a cast lower end, rods, crank, pistons... It is just not a good foundation for making horsepower. I would look to find a complete motor somewhere.

Checkmate,
That seems to be the consensus. If I'm ging to do it- do it with the built 502. |
