sandable filler for gelcoat blisters

What can I use to fill ground out gelcoat blisters? I have sealed them all with resin and now I am looking for something that has a thick and spreadable consistency like bondo. These are some fairly large areas about the size of a silver dollar or better but not very deep. It needs to be sandable to a smooth finish for painting with a waterproof swimming pool paint. BTW, it's for the frik'n steps into my pool, not a boat bottom. I tried some stuff that is like resin w/ fiberglass in it and it spreads like chit, I need something smooth and workable.

Thanks for any help.

I was wondering who on earth would paint their running surface with a pool paint! I BELIEVE that many use a standard resin and then mix in micro balloons to thicken it.

I was wondering the same thing :D

West system epoxy resin with their fillers, they make different fillers as far as workability and hardness for sandability. Great stuff!!

MARINETEX makes a good 2-part filler, avail at most decent marine shop, Boats U.S. etc.

I've just used an Interlux 2 part epoxy product made for repairing osmotic blisters.('Course it has plenty other uses too) Comes in a pint size pack, one part is cream coloured the other a greenish blue. Has a consistency like butter, won't sag even on horizontal surfaces and sands beautifully.
