Nice pictures. Are those the new R-Tech 540 crate blower motors ready to bolt in?

No, those are the Rtech display engines on their way to another show. We haven't done the crate engine thing yet, because we have our hands full developing intercoolers. It's enough of a job getting the name and goodwill established for them.

But it is tempting, because it is so easy. We have access to a very good engine builder and the specs are simple. A 540 with Dart intake, AFR 315 CNC heads, Crane 741 or small solid roller cam. Keep the compression below 9:1, CMI headers, big oil cooler. The heads/cam/headers make 100% VE, the engine makes 665 HP at 5800 RPM and the blower takes that up to 1000 HP. Vortech V-4 , Rtech Supercooler and Nickerson carb.

If you want to give one of your V-4s a new home...

Plumbers crack......I was chatting with you down in the Baja section about this, glad to see you posted over here. One thing to keep in mind you do not have to go the blower route to make 650hp out of a 502 block. You can probalby get real close to that with just a set of AFR315CNC with the other parts you are running right now. I am running the same setup as you, with a bit more CR (9.9:1) and hogged out GM High Perf ALum 315 heads (hooged out too much probably) and I am making 595hp and 594ft lbs, with a 741 hydraulic roller. Peek HP at 5800, Comp Hydraulic Roller Lifters. With the AFR's I am betting I would see close to 650hp or so and probably even higher TQ.

I am running an Air Gap and Demon 750.

Just a thought, might be a worthwhile exploration for you. Good luck :)

I put props on it and turn it to 5500 to 5800. I would venture you put good parts in it. To even start to use that head you need to be above 5K rpm.

thanks for the response Im glad so many people added there 2 cents,If Im running 26 inch 4blades at 4800,should I run a 3 blade at 5500-5800 or a 4 blade?Guess it doesnt really matter, the gps will be a good guage with the tachs.I ran a pair of 24 and spun them 5300-5500 trimmed to the moon.I didnt have a gps speedo at the time so I will borrow a pair and test.will post as soon as possible. After spending the money on the merlins the afrs were dollar for dollar the ticket with the numbers you guys report.would like to keep naturally aspirated for now.Like I said motors run perfect so I'll enjoy summer and get into these things in the fall.props are the easy way to go,anyone got a pair (props)?

ps too much and the bravos would disintegrate any way.
