Higher oil temps on starboard engine...thoughts?

Went out for a run on Saturday and noticed towards the wind down on one of the faster runs that my oil temp was critically high I one engine, like 280+ but the pressure was normal, BTW my engines are 525SC. The next morning I checked the oil in both engines and they looked normal and the starboard one did not feel or smell like it had been boiled/burned. On Sunday when we went out an ran the oil temp was higher by about 20-30 degrees than port but not in the critical zone like the day before. This has never happened before but here is the twist, I have been putting in Livosri bezels so my questions are...

1) Did I mess up a guage
2) Is there an issue and can I check it myself
3) Are these engines prone to something like this?

Any and all thoughts are welcome.

Could be a bad bearing...but check the gauge first.
