have a transom shower cap works when trimed down but when i trim up for cruise or top end its not picking up water i have the hose on the right side (looking at rear of boat) i have been told most people put it on the left side should that make a difference anyone else had this problem

check to make sure the bottom of the tube did not get pinched(from hitting something), you may want to look into a cap with two tubes (gaffrig or teague) they work great.

This is a very common problem. The original designs were meant to be fed off the prop, but it didn't work at higher speeds/trim levels. They are now bending the pickup tube forward to catch the water.
