best method for bleeding trailer brakes?

I've got a trailer with surge brakes and they aren't working.

What is the best way to bleed the brake lines?

Also, I can't get to the brake shoe adjuster from the backside, so I need to pull the drum to adjust them. The hubs have bearing buddies and I'm not at all familiar with them as far as how to remove the drum and whether there are any important torque specs or critical steps for reinstalling them. Any help would be appreciated as far as general steps on what to do.

Thanks is advance.

Re: best method for bleeding trailer brakes?

For some odd reason, they designed the trailer with dropped axles that cover the adjustment hole on the backing plate! Aarrrghhh!! There is no way to get an adjusting tool in there.

With any luck, the drums will just come off when I pull the tires, as you said. But I'm not sure that is the case.

Thanks for the tips guys.
