Got a little bit of a weird one, at least to me
2002 496/mag
Normally when starting the motor I first turn the key to the on position, wait a few seconds for the peeps and sounds, than turn the key to start motor. Motor fires up with no other beeps. However, now I’m hearing an additional peep, when motor is cranking right before it fires. The motor is also cranking a least one more revolution before firing. I’m seeing same thing no-matter engine temperature. The only time this will not happen is if I restart the motor within 5 second of shutting it down. No other signs of a problem and I’m seeing all the same performance numbers. |

Just a question, is your depth finder powered off of the ignition key switch? Sometimes they are and will sound a beep when cranking.

Just got back from taken boat out tonight and was have the same thing happen so here is what I did. I switch the spark plugs so a different plug was located in cylinder number one and the problem when away. I than put the plugs back to original configuration and same thing. Going to replace all the plugs, they have over 250 hours on them.
any of this make any sense? |
