Alarm Sounding

After a pretty hard day running today in some pretty nasty chop my alarm went off. I shut it down and checked everything and found no problems. Temp. oil presure, fluids and all were normal. What all is hooked up to this alarm system?? Had to drive another 30 minutes and listen to that thing buzzing in my ear.

On miy boat it's the water temp, oil pressure and drive oil. Did you check your drive oil resevoir? Did your boat also go into "limp mode" or just the buzzer going off?

Re: Alarm Sounding

Thanks guys. My thermostate had stuck open for a while and the temp was only reading 120. Shortly after the alarm went off she came unstuck. I just had some engine work done and they told me to wach the temp due there may be some stuff floating around in there. We alos noted the drive resevoir was bout 1 inch below the line so we did fill it as well but the alarm stayed on. I'm almost guessing maybe a sending unit went bad due to all the heavy pounding. Now it looks like I'll start checking each unit to find the culpret. I just wasn't to sure what all was tied into that alarm.

Something simple to check is the float in your drive bottle. If it was low and you were pounding on it pretty good it could have went down and stuck there. Did your boat go into limp mode?

No on the limp mode. She ran just fine. Every once in a while it did go off but only for say 10-20 seconds.
