changing throttle/shifter controls

Friend is looking to change out his older style single (all in one) control to the zero effort separate shifter/throttle controls. this is a single motor setup. Will the cables need to replaced or just the ends? Also, does anyone have a used setup for sale??

Just the ends. I'm doing the same thing.

Cuda, what shifter did you buy and where did you get it?

Some cables have ends that are not removable, so he will need new cables too. And if you are doing the job, a new set of cables is a good idea anyway. Use the Teleflex TFXtremes-they make a world of difference in how the controls work.

I did the same swap on my single engine Formula. I used the Mercury Zero Effort controls and TeleFlex Extreme cables. They worked great.
