Can't get the friggin ink of my sunpad!!!

Somehow an ink blotch showed up on my sun pad. Probably during a chick party where the magazines came out. It looks like that a wet or suntan oil soaked magazines ink bled onto the vinyl. It is a purplish color and I really suspect it is ink from a magazine cover because of the size and shape.

I have tried:
Softscrub with bleach
Acetone
Goof Off
Bleach
WD-40
Swearing

It has lightened up some but it is till there. Rumor has it sun will fade ink but I have noticed that if your eyes are in the sun long enough it looks lighter but when cloud cover comes it looks brighter again. Perhaps I should select some sunglasses that filter that color out!

Anything else I could try?

Let the sun do the rest , or as much as it can. If you've tried acetone and bleach, that's about as harsh as you can get.

Try Carbona Stain Devils for Ink. You can get it at any grocery store.

Try Mr Clean magic erasers they are awesome and if they don't work try Coleman's white gas as last resort. Hope the bleach didn't tear it up too bad..

Dog, I got a black magic marker spot/streak off with lacquer thinner.

Then I gave my sister an extended speech on why my 3 year old nephew no longer brings ANY f'n kiddie stuff out on the boat again.

Hope it works....the lacquer thinner that is.

I think I will try Bourbon next. Going to give the thinner a try right now.

Well the Lacquer thinner lightened it some. On my test piece I found it took the texture off somewhat so I blended it an roughed it up with a brush. Did not seem to hurt it at all though.

Oh well, it is hardly noticeable but it is like when you have a nail pop in the drywall, if you know it is there your eye goes right to it. I suppose the third member of the DogPound (my kids boat carries a 100 lb. Weimarnier which is my role model after a few beers) is now allowed on the BadDog.

Will try anything as I have plenty of test pieces. If I find something that works I will update.

Got ink all over the leather back seat of my car a few years ago from a pen that burst - cream colored leather at that. I almost cried.

A friend (who is in the cleaning business) told me the secret that worked like a charm on the leather, and on several shirts and pants since.

Buy the cheapest hair spray (aerosol) you can find (I used Aqua Net) and spray it on. Let it sit a few minutes and keep wiping and blotting. Soon it should be all gone. When you first spray it on it looks like it will discolor or fade the fabric/leather. I got really nervous the first time. However, in a little while it dries and the leather/fabric came right back to its original color.

Hope it helps you out - has worked wonders for me.
