496 block, What head will fit.

I have had a 496 block out of a fleet truck with only 10K miles on it when it got a knock from a faulty lifter. I would like to build a motor for the wife to put in a hot rod she wants me to build. I would like to use this block but I want to make it N/A and get away from the factory fuel injection. What I was wondering was do heads from a gen V block fit on the new 496. Or where can I get an intake manifold to adapt to the new style heads that would let me use a standard type distributer and carb.

thanks
Pual

The only aftermarket intake and heads I've seen
have been from Raylar.

But the intake is for fuel injection

I've seen a Raylar post on here......maybe the'll chime in.

Hot Boat:
The only heads that will fit your 496 block are the stock factory 496 (8.1) GM iron heads or our new aluminum BigPower heads. As for a carburator manifold that will accept a distrbutor, we have a protype we are testing now and the final product should be available in October. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions, you might want to visit our website at Raylar.
