inverters
volts X amps = watts
I get alot of questions on how big an inverter you need for a peticular item so I thought I would give all of you a guide. Example a 3/8 drill requires about 3 amps. Multiply 3 amps X 120 volts= 360 watts. This is the minimum inverter (360 watts) that one should purchase to use this item. Item.......................................Typical watts 1200 watt heat gun...................1200 watts soldering gun............................400 watts DVD player................................120 watts 13" color TV..............................150 watts 19" color TV..............................180 watts Mini refridge...............................450 watts toaster oven..............................1100 watts microwave oven..........................1200 watts blender .....................................400 watts notebook computer......................120 watts 10 gallon wet dry vacuum..............1000 watts coffee maker...............................1200 watts chargers for laptop,cellphone,camcorder,7.2 volt drill ......30 watts jigsaw........................................500 watts 1/2" reversible drill........................800 watts This is just a guide! You need to know the current draw in amps to be certain that you have a large enough inverter. |
