hey guys , i have an hp500 clone(gen 6) i am looking to add
the remote oil filter and oil cooler too. i bought an hp500 oil cooler, and the hp500 remote oil filter that mounts to the back of the head with all hoses. does anyone have a diagram, pic, or can explain how the oil hoses are routed for this set up? any help would be great !!!

that site only showed a parts breakdown,it didnt show the routing of the lines unfortunately. i did figure out the set up i bought is from a mid 90s version of the hp500(carb). the oil filter bracket is mounted off the rear of the engine head. it looks to me all of the lines were upgraded as sutphen30 recommended.

Hey Kevin, I have talked to you on the other performance forum site. Are U interested in a zz502 setup for marine use? I am going into another direction so I may have a couple of ZZ's for sale. One used for about 3 hours and the other is right out of the crate. Would consider selling as them came from GM, or setting them up for you with the minimum amount of marine stuff. Carb vents changed and rejetted, marine oil pan, remote oil filter adaptor, all steel oil pump shaft, 30 lb. relief bypass valves, stainless crossover, flywheel. You would have to add the exhaust manifolds, oil cooler, remote oil filter. I do have two (still in the box) Teague Custom Marine remote (for the HP6 filter) oil filter and BB cylinder head mounting bracket. Purple power coated. These can be either mounted on the rear or front of the cylinder head. Horizontal mounting of the oil filter. Interested?

All you guys doing the automotive to marine changeovers, listen to what Sutphen is saying. He knows what he is talking about.

Trash the stock merc oil lines for some good #10 stuff. Use the good aeroquip, earl's, ARP, etc fittings too. Flow and longevity. That's what makes boating an EVERY weekend sport. Unless you want to wrench all weekend.
