engine not getting ot temp on the hose
Went to winterize today and port motor would not getto temp
Opened both block drains and they were clean. Good flow of water. Same out of exhaust drains. Are there only 4 per engine? However, not matter what it would not get to tmep. Had to have the boat back to storage by weeks end. :( I went ahead nad pulled the thoermo housing. Have no clue what I am looking for, but I could not remove the thermostat :( Thing is plastic inside the housing :( Do you just chip the thing out? Last question, I just emptied the block, once again only 4 blue drains, and then refilled the block with antifreeze. I made sure to get pink out of the two block drains before plugging them back up. I then poured down all the other hoses. Is this suffecient? I have always ran through the engine up to temp and then the pink stuff for 5 gallons per motor. |
Re: engine not getting ot temp on the hose
Last season it took me a white to get the plastic out of the housing with out breaking it. Once I got it out I scraped/cleaned all the crap off. Then lightly sanded it with fine sand paper. Then a very light coating of never sieze. It came out this year nice-n-easy.
