I've had that same question on my mind for a while. I've been told anywhere from 50 to 70hp., but I won't have any first hand experience until next summer. I just picked up a superchiller for my B&M 174 blower/454 combo, but its a little too late to be playing with it now. I'm sure theres at least several guys on the board that have had experience with these.

Re: super coolers

depends on how much boost but roughly 30 to 40 hp.

Re: super coolers

What you will be able to do with the supperchiller is to be able to turn the boost up. Thus more HP. Tomcat has done some testing & I think on a 800hp motor they gained 35hp between having the water turned on ver water off. But, as stated above you will then be able to increase the boost & that is where more HP comes into play. Do a search on Tomcat & his suppercooler

Re: super coolers

I would look intp the Whipple chiller set-up. The ciller is built into the intake so the carb height doesn't change near as much and they use a coooper unit which is better to disipate the heat.

With chiller you can not only increase the boost but also the timing which will increase your power. Will probably have to re-jet, change plug heat range and up fuel octane if you go way up in boost.
