engine flush
i have twin 454 mag mpi's in my 33 outlaw, i took the drain plugs out on saturday and foud that there was a lot of crap comming out the port side
engine block(at the block plug) i also have noticed that that same motor's heat risers have been hot to the touch while the other motor is much cooler. temp gauges are running pretty much the same for both motors (170-175) there are only 50 hours on these motors. is there a way to flush the blocks and get the grap that settles in the block out.. i laso do not know when (or if) the h20 pump and been re-fitted with new impellers. i was planning to get these done prior to next season. jc |
Re: engine flush
They sell coolant flush agents at Autozone. Mix up a batch in a tank and run it thorough with the ear muff intakes and let it sit for 15 minutes in a hot engine then flush with water..

Re: engine flush
i was thinking of running the engine with the block plug out (while boat is on the trailer) would this push the grap out, or would this foolish??
would enough water circulate thru the rest of the system?? jc |
