Help! 32 Fountain Fever. Engine hatch actuator $hit the bed!
Cant get in to unbolt it.I removed the rear pins but can only
get about an inch. No way that I can see to get at the bolt
Any of you Fountain guys run into this before? Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Rick

most intelligent installs use a pull-pin on the top mount. That way, you can pry it up a bit and snake a coathanger in to yank the pin.

you may want to add one later since you may have to rip the existing mount to get it open this time...

stacking long socket extensions can allow you to get to the thru bolt and do the same thing.

One problem. You cant budge the hatch up 1 inch! To make
matters worse, it sits in a 1/2 inck recess. I'm hopping that
maybe I can go thru the side vents with about 10 extensions.

You sure it is the lift itself and not a bad connection at the switch?
This has always been one of my fears. :( I'm assuming that all the prying up in the world will not cause the lift to move.

The only other option that I can think of is to cut an access hole under the rear seat in the center and unbolt the hatch from the bottom, then install a round access cover there for future.
What ever ends up working, let us know. Might put this in the Fountain forum too. Good Luck

of summer, but I figured I'd take care of it when I put it up for
the winter. It just couldnt work just 1 last time could it!

Be careful with the quick release pins. I had the two of them fall apart. My latest one is holding up. I put a tyrap around it so it can not fall out. I also have an access hole behind a rear seat cushion where I reach in and cut the tyrap and pull the pin.

Formula Outlaw just did that and he just kept pulling on the cover and finally got the hatch up about 6 inches to get his batteries charged ..

Re: Engine hatch wont open

I got it up :D long extensions thru the vent, a porta power between
the deck & rear seat on the other side. Lots of time and scratched
arms, but its open with no damage to the boat.
