feed back on dean nickerson's carb work

i am considering having dean set up my boost ref carbs for blown 588s and select my cams. whos had good or bad results with his work? or is there someone in the tampa bay or sarasota area you that you would recomend? id like the shop that does my carbs to dyno and tune them as well and thats not an option for me due to distance if dean does the work.ive seen some positive feedback about dean on other threads, has anyone had problems with his workmanship? thx ratman

I had my motor dyoned there and had them do a stage 5 carb, there was no change in HP. It did look good though.

Dean's the man on carbs and he won't steer you wrong on cams either. Great luck with his stuff over the years and great customer service and support.

Ratman,
In St Petersburg I would call Ray at Force 10 Marine, he is located on 49th street north. In this area he is one of the best, has been around a long time and will give you the straight scoop and I know of a lot of "Big" motors he has done around here. If you can't find his number email me and I will send you more info'. More places you can call and ask "who they would use" would be Jay at Spectre in Clearwater, or Innovation Marine down in Sarasota.

I just had a motor on the dyno that I built. Dean did a 1050 Dominator for me after I sent him all my engine specs. The carb worked out perfect. The B.S.F.C. #'s were right there, no changes were needed at all.

No doubt about it. Nickerson is the man. B&M turned me onto Dean years ago when we built our first blower motor.

Dean did my dominator on my blown 502.Bolted it on and went.Only had to adjust idle speed. Plugs look good and runs great!

Dean set up my procharged carb - No black transom - put it on and ran it.

I concur.
Just set your idle and go. It is wise to check your plugs and Deano will stress that.

Dean is the man!

When I bought my Top Gun, the carbs had just been done by a well known carb specialist in Cali. I could not make it out of our no-wake zone without fouling plugs.

I sent all four carbs to Nickerson and when they returned they were spot on perfect. Just bolted them on and ran it. No plug fouling since.

Dean is also one of the nicest guys in this kooky trade

I highly recommend Nickerson Performance.

Kurt
