To be safe 10:1 with aluminum heads with no less than 92 octane.

Gas should be the cheapest part of boating---especially when you just laid down some heavy duty SMACK for a new pair of engines and don't want to chance detonating them. I try to give myself a little cusion by using a little higher octane that what I really need.

Aluminum heads:92 octane-9.6to1 87octane-9to1
Steel heads: 92 octane-9.4to1 87octane-8.8to1

This is a good conservative guideline for no detonation even if you get a batch of questionable gas.
