Need Cam and Carb Advice? Anything helps
Ok heres the deal I have a '78 Eliminator Mini Daycruiser V-Drive. I am trying to build a good mild blown motor. I have a 454 standard bore, 8.75 to 1 compression, Rectangular Port Heads, MSD Pro Billet Distributer and 6AL box, Weiand 177 Blower (its a 525 SC setup). I live in Utah and will run the boat at about 4500' in elevation most of the time with the ocasional trip to Havasu. I am looking for some engine componant help. I dont have a carb or cam yet. I am also looking for a good set of exaust headers for it to, something I might be able to afford.
Thanks in advance for any help. Chad |

A call to Dean Nickerson of Nickerson Performance, would be a good start.

For a carb I would look at a Mighty Demon Marine.
As far as cams go, it depends on if you are going Hydraulic roller or flat tapet. To move up to the roller cam it is going to cost an extra $1000 per engine. It looks like the Crane 241 is a nice choice for a flat tapet and the Crane 731 for a roller cam. The 241 is a litle more cam than the 525sc used. http://www.cranecams.com/?show=brows...61&lvl=2&prt=5 |

I'd use a Demon, but I may be a little biased...
