Yep - thanks mcollinstn a good brain workout is always healthy.

The B&M blowers were limited to 12k. Not sure about the Weiand. That was just an FYI. I had a ton of the B&M's over the years.

thanks for the info

Sent them to Holley in Calf, about $500 each
One was a little noiser than the other--came back the same way--but no problems so far.

The Holley rebuild center isn't in CA, it's in Tenn. They charged me $550 to do one of mine last winter.

Re: 525sc's Rebuild

ok..here we go:

- dart / merlin perf. head/ valve assembly aprox 310cc
-mild additional porting
-8:1 comp ( bumped up over stock 7.5:1)

-454 @ 30over
-1050dom from 525sc
-stock intakes from 525sc
-original Gill exhaust
-rebuilt wiand 177's (stock 3'' pulleys)
-full hydrolic

-want to avoid water ingestion
-high reliability
-smooth idol
-5,200- max r's @ peak HP
-cruise 3,000-3,500

Which cam over the stock Crane #132561? Would the 731 be considered the next size up in terms of performance? Dont want more than i need. Only looking to add 75-100hp with heads and cam.

i promise to end this thread soon

We gonna have to charge you soon.Everything sounds fine, should work out well but make sure you dyno both engines and their fully dressed.

Re: 525sc's Rebuild

hydraulic roller conversion will cost a little $$. Figure $275 for the stick, $400 for the lifters, and $80 for the pushrods.

A good custom blower grind in a flat hydraulic will cost less, you'll use the same pushrods, and a box of $75 lifters. You'll have to go "one size bigger" on the duration to get to the same power level as the roller which will soften your bottom end a touch.

Just a thought (since you are on a budget).

When I get to my office tomorrow I'll check my bill.

Re: 525sc's Rebuild

The roller cam will make more power due to the higher lift and faster ramp speeds. Its probably worth about 20-30hp over the stock flat tappet cam and maybe more with better heads.
