Im thinking the dark spot may be caused by the oil pump stud?

Those look a little bit like mine, but mine had only 30 hours on them, as opposed to 4 summers. :picard1: That rear main looks a little bit like it had a hot spot in that dark area. Yes, it does look like there might have been some small particles that got through there, and some wear. Maybe a little fuel dilution on a supercharged application?

I had sent my rings back to Total Seal, They said there is a little signs of fuel wash, which I know the motor is real rich, little detonation on the bottom of the ring cupping which I know I'm on the edge, and they are close to needing replaced,The molly looked good,Keith said that they look about normal for a marine blown engine at this power level with this many hours. He did recommend a diff ring that has a better stronger top ring.He did say make sure tofollow the bore and honing directions that Dart provided to get a good ring seal.
CT9190-255 TNT 1/16 4.500 Ring gaps are good not showing any butting and the leak down was still good The puke tank on this motor just had a little oil mist in it,so blowby wasn't bad even though how loose it was. I been cleaning up the old block and all the other parts, going to sell. Block w/ JE pistons 4.530 gen 6 2 sets Crane tappets manley push rods 2 sets guide plates 2 sets comp 929springs 2 sets retainer comp w/ loc 2 sets manley valves Crane rocker arms 2 sets rocker arm studs 4 oilpumps w/ meling/mporoso pick up 2 sets arp head bolts I've pulled the rods apart and the rod bearings are showing a good bit of wear, to me at least,Ill post some picks. I polished the cam and most of the tracking/marking came out, Rob . |
