Push rod length looks good.

Every thing came apart ok on this one ,nothing weird YET

One thing about motor #1 is there was not much trash in the bearings,so somebody did a good job of cleaning it.

Not on motor # 2 it had some trash in the bearings at least they where the same name brand.the trash did look normal like most motors I have tore down.

The rear main shows a little out of round . looks like where the oil pump bolt area is.Center of top cap

The crank will definitely need to be polished on this one.

One thing I thought was weird was the scuffing on the piston skirts. they where on the same side on the piston and just on 1 3 5 7. What do yall think??


I cked the piston top ring gap, showed .032 I sure it has worn some.

t cked the ring land it .350 down just like the nitrous pistions


And guess what :eek: . the # 2 Motor had regular rings in it, :eek: :eek: so the other had gap less. There was no RPM difference in the motors at any speed , go figure :D

Motor # 2 same fitting as on the other motor on the header broke ,thats weird??


Cam plug rusting, might have been a problem later on. I will paint the rear on the block on the way back up :D

Felpro 1211 gasket , looks to be too big and pushed down on the top, not good.Almost looks like they over torqued it. or the heads and block have been cut too much and pinched it?
or the rust from the top got it??

the # 1 motor had merc intake gaskets

pick 3 this pisses me off they want paint this little area so it want rust. goes for the same on the front of the block and around the oil pan :(

Motor #2 piston is .004 in the hole . I figure it been cut before . not much room for clean up if needed . My buddy had a BHJ tool we will ck deck height from crank center line , and ck see if deck is square
