Here The heads are together bolted up.With using the Metal layer Fel Pro head gaskets I tried to make the head and block surface as clean and lint free as I could .The head gaskets have that soft rubber feeling stuff on them that attract any kind of stuff, It even shows finger prints in it .

Here I ck the rocker arm geometry with the new crane lifters, cam, and machining I figured it would be off. It was dead on in the center . ya can see the contact patch.

I bought all new Crane Rockers also. Ck this out,Crane changed up the rocker from the stock 2001 500EFI to 2005. Looks a little different . They allready have the corners radiused :DCool

Note!! In the box on the new Crane rockers it said ck the treads on the polly lock for burs.It said if there is a tight spot in the ajusting nut to run a tap thru the thread in them . There was a lot of them that needed retapping :(

One thing I noticed the innercooler fitting when ya put a Earls #12 fitting there the temp sender will not fit in the spot provided :( Had to put it in the thermostat housing  It could of been put a little lower or in a different spot and it would of fit and been cleaner install.

The 2 Whipple kits came in the boxes these 3 boxes very well pack with that expand a foam. Everything was bubble rapped , there wasn't a single scratch ,dent on anything .I was surprised how well they packed the stuff :D

The kits came with every thing you would need for a stock 500efi install . There was even some extra stuff. i even has some left over stuff. I ordered mine thru Mark at Precision Marine in Louisiana without the fuel system, diff pulleys etc.I knew I was going to run it on Marks Dyno and he was doing the ECM for me and the way he does it on the Dyno it exactly the same as it would run in the boat all the ascoryes , I even had fluid flowing thru the power steering pump.using my fuel system on the dyno meant I didn't have to touch it when I put it in the boat :D

The one thing wish Whipple did was Polish this plate. I ask Dustin he said I could not take it apart :evilb: Oh well :drink:

My MSD brackets I made out of stainless steel.Put the riv[blind]nuts in it . I had made them out of aluminum last year and the cracked and water spotted.

These mount right above the ECM on the stock mer 500efi bracket . I like it better there and it keeps the motor cleaner looking . Ive seen where Teague mounts his on the front of the motor  This keeps the wires shorter and all the ignition in the same place :D and stainless bracket polished will look like chrome even though ya cant see it :evilb:

Oil system

The oil pan, Its a Keith Eichert and the fel Pro one piece oil pan gasket needs to be trimmed . the rear main seal area is to wide . you have to cut the lips off the gasket for it to lay flat against the oil pan rail. I haven't heard anybody else having this prob. is it just me? :eek:This is the style gasket that came on it .It was trimed also

Heres where I mounted my fuel pump and filter. I used the 500efi bracket cut it down turned it around . It is flush with the oil pan. so if U set it on the ground it would sit level. On the engine cradle the oil pan is about 2 inches off the ground . this makes the fuel pump easy to get to . mounted low so it doesn't have to suck so hard .As ya see no fuel cooler

I change the fittings in the Hustler tank they used hardware store style pluming pipe, but it was brass. At least it was 1/2 pipe :D I changed it all out to Earls fittings and high flow hose ends , all # 10 to the filter to the pump and up to the fuel rail.

The Whipple kit came with a new wiring harness for the fuel pump with a relay and fuse holder al water proof. This was a very high quality piece , good wires and it was long enough too.I mounted the relay on the bracket by the merc engine harness plug,Like it was made to go there.

The back side looks like shet :( . I ran out of time this was 3 weeks before a poker run and still had to go to the dyno. i need to shorten some wire this winter, try to clean it up some .

Starter side ,I wish Whipple made a molded hose for this side .It shure would be better.

bout ready for the dyno

Here is how I mounted the Fuel regulator/bypass.I figured this would be better than mounting it to the blower like some Ive seen :D A cleaner install!! It has a #10 union 90 high flow with 2 females on it. The union is the inlet. In the bottom is a #6 that returns back to the tank . No need for a fuel cooler, Its not dead heading heating the fuel and it goes back to the tank NOT the fuel filter. The vac line is boost refanced .It goes up about 10 psi under boost. On the other side it has the fuel pressure port.I wish someone made a decent electric fuel pressure gage for the boats :(

Done .I was ready to go Dyno them , See if we could go blow these hand grenades up :D .

At this point Mark at Precision Marine was waiting on me , He said wear your rubber boots just encase. He also said if it blows I have to clean it up  :D

Ck out my straps I made . They want scratch anything . like ya see most shops use chains that will scratch the blower and dig into the valve covers. These are just regular old truck 10k yellow tie down straps . like ya use on car ratchet tie downs. I took the flat style hook like they use on 18wheelers and cut the hook part off and drilled a hole for the bolt that bolts to the heads .The rear of the motor is heaver ,so that strap is shorter to keep it level.

Which and what was don to your heads again? At .5-.6 lift there is In-300-345 and Ex-200. I think AFR and ported others will do almost 400In/300Ex at the same lift.
