Re: Drive Alignment Tool for XRs

The inside diameter of the bearing is larger on the XR than the B1. Thus this bearing will allow the larger diameter XR to clear as well as the smaller diameter B1.

If the tool has the same diameter as the B1, then there will be clearance around the bearing and not a snug fit. If there is clearance, how do you know if you have proper alignment?

Does the tool for the ITS only fit the XR? Will it fir the "old" style coupler? I do not have the ones with a "snout" on it.

Thanks
Shawn

The bearings have the SAME id, the differance is the newer bearing (red dot) is not as wide on 1 side

The ITS alignment tool will fit either style coupler and any version Bravo transom assembly. It has a "slide" that fits over the main shaft and into the gimbal bearing. This allows you to pull the slide back and see a gap between the main bar and the bearing. This gap will show which direction the engine has to go for alignment. No "guessing" with grease. The slide also allows it to be used with the ITS setback or standard Bravo's.

I will also repeat what MBAM and others have said, the bearing ID is the same on any Bravo transom, just the length is different on the red dot side.
