575 Sc
What can be done to the 575 SC that would be the best bang for the buck.
already installed AZ boost kit and in the process of installing a whipple cooler how much power would heads and roller cam net me? Thanks EWB |
Re: 575 Sc
Put an 8/71 on it or a 3.3 whipple and be done with it. Put yours on ebay.

Re: 575 Sc
Good heads and cam will probably drop your boost by 2 psi. You can then make up the difference with pulleys and if you have the cooler and it's plumbed into a good flow of water, you can probably get by with 7psi.
7 psi of boost, a cooler, and some ECU tricks will net 700hp from an otherwise stock 575. Really good heads and the right cam should put you well over 850hp. That would be pushing it for pump gas though. |
Re: 575 Sc
And then you will be spinning the Weiand into oblivion shortening the life creating heat and then...rotor wash. Remember the 250 B&M? No replacement for displacement and that includes chargers.

Re: 575 Sc
As is the pump gas limitation.
You're making more heat than boost. Translates into detonation. Man didn't ask what was the most sensible method to horsepower. That would be a 540 and a great big blower with free breathing heads. But since he already spent the bucks for the blue beast, he might want to keep it. |

[QUOTE=mcollinstn]As is the pump gas limitation.
You're making more heat than boost. Translates into detonation. And maybe I should have mentioned that fuel injector swap will be requred at around 725hp. That's the limit of the stockers regardless of what fuel pressure you try to run. So maybe he needs to say what his budget, and overall goal is. Like most questions, there is no good answer to "how much can I get". Cause there's always a way to get more. It just costs money and effort. And at some point, it begins to NOT BE a 575SCi anymore. |
Re: 575 Sc
A friend of mine has a 575sci and had one of the vent tubes fall off the throttle body and got stuck in the butter fly at WOT. When he let off the throttle The butter fly would not close. He was smart enough to turn off the key, the boat came to rest he pulled the flame arrester and found the J tube stuck in the better fly. That could have been one hell of a ride.
