1992 Volvo Drive / Max H.p.??

I know this question has been asked before but here is my situation....my other option to re-powering is to just add some H.P. to the Volvo big block that I have now. It is 1992 Volvo 454 with 330 H.P. and a duo-prop drive...What is the max H.P. that I should add to this motor without causing damage to the drive? I have called every where and no one seems to have any idea...

My buddy have this motor (808hp) connected to a 290 dpx. No problems for three years. Another friend raced his 28' with 700hp BBC and 290 dpx for one year with no problems, so I guess it's a pretty solid drive.

38KV...Thanx for the example....do you know how old the drives that they are using?

Both were bought new. The "808hp" 2000, and the "700hp" 1997 I think.

Thanx KV...those are pretty new compared to mine...mine is a 1992 so I am not sure if the strength is the same...
