8.1 496ho Mefi 4
 

I need some help on finding a mefi 3 or 4 for a 8.1 , I spoke with a few different people regarding the right controller , I found alot of them for the 350 or 502 ram jet but I was told they are different and will not work . I would hate to purchased this thru mercruiser because of their prices and can't find many sources at reasonable prices. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks Jeff :evilb:

Check with Arizona Speed -- http://www.azspeed-marine.com/ they do great work for several marine engine maufacturers and have excelelnt customer service, ie they answer phone and speak english.

The 8.1 does'nt use the Delco Mefi, it has Mercury's own box. For a while it looked like Edelbrock was going to sell it to the aftermarket but I'm not sure if the deal is live.

Find a Volvo, Crusader or Pleasurecraft dealer. They run a Mefi 4 computer on their version of the 8.1. GM does not use Mercruisers system, so any engine marinizer other than Merc will have what you need.
