Some Of These Blowers Not All I've Seen Thy Come Sealed With No Provision For Draining The Oil It's Kind Of Messy But All You Have To Do Is Remove The Drive In The Front And Either Tilt The Housing Forward To Drain Or If Not Removed Be Suctioned Out. We Use Either Gm Blower Oil Or In The Race Engines We Use Strickly Lucas You Might Want To Check With The Manufacturer For Your Proper Oil And Do Not Overfill.good Luck Laz Mesa

Some blowers have a pressure release valve and it must first be pushed to take away all the pressure inside the blower. If your blower doesn't have one then you must be careful when removing the two bolts to do this task. The blower holds allot of pressure inside and you must keep your face away putting a rag over the bolt because it will spit out fast. You need to remove the bottom 6 o`clock bolt and 2 o`o'clock bolt, when it drains out then you must insert the gear oil threw the 6 o`clock bolt until the 2 o`clock bolt has the oil coming out then plug the top hole first then the bottom hole. Either with the pressure release valve or not the same steps are taken to remove and add oil in the blower. There are usually six allen bolts around the snout .

That's a very good question. I've got a 420 Mega Blower and it looks like you remove the small allen head bolt on the front bottom right side. The thing I'm not sure of is the right oil.

I've always used a big syringe and small plastic hose to suction it out.

Bob Oneil- The allen plug you refer to on the 420 is the fill hole. You should have a vented allen plug at the top of the front cover. Some people replace the vented plug with a solid one. If it's vented, there will be no pressure when you remove the lower plug. Merc says to use 90 wt gear lube. Again, some folks use different stuff. You fill until fluid runs out the lower hole.

Thanks, Mine is not vented and I thought that I've heard that people use outdrive oil in theirs.

on my old SC motor, i would pull the SC off of the motor, take out the allen screws, and sit it upside down to let the oil drain completly out. it took a while to drain all out since it's thick. There is only a small amount of oil in there.
