Can you identify this blower?
1 Attachment(s)
The seller claims this blower is a 6-71, but I'm sure it's not. Does anyone know what it is?
Thanks..Matt |
Re: Can you identify this blower?
Is that for a bus?

Re: Can you identify this blower?
I have no idea. Apparently they came off a "200 bhp gmc detroit inline 6", and google says they should be 6-71's, but they clearly aren't.

Re: Can you identify this blower?
run my friend run like h*ll... it would probably ost more than a new set to convert them to automotive specs. busses dont turn any rpms. and the bearings in those bus blowers won't hold up and u might lose a motor when they puke the bearings. search the classifieds. its much cheaper and easier to freshen a set that are already set up for your application. just my .02 ratman

As was pointed out, you'd be money ahead buying one that was setup for what you want to do with it rather than retro fit. They must be really old as well. Most the buses that come through my shop (I work for the Detroit Diesel dealer in town) run Series 50's, 6V-71's or 6V-92's, some of the big greyhound style run an 8V-92, but all the old 2 strokes are few and far between anymore. Good luck at any rate. |
