spinelli 25 pitch vs. 24 hydro's

I am trying to decide which prop to go with on my 95, 32' caliber/outlaw. Does anybody have any suggestions on which one I should go with?

Re: spinelli 25 pitch vs. 24 hydro's

if your drives are deep in the water go with a mirage plus 3 blade, if your boat will not get on plane with a 3 blade prop cause your drive's are mounted on the high side then a 4 blade will do the job, most deep V hull boats like a bravo1 prop[non step hull] Hydromotive props [Q4 ] lift the stern, but they have a new bow lifting prop out now, you can also try turning your props in and then try turning then out to see what your boat likes.

Baja's like bow lifting props.

I think H2X is on the $$$$.

I would recommend trying both props on your boat. Both props have some positive benefits to them. It really boils down to what feels better to you!

I think I'm just going to go with Hydromotives, I had them before and I thought they worked well. Julie, do you have a pair of used 24 pitch for sale...cheap?

Re: spinelli 25 pitch vs. 24 hydro's

I would go with the hydro's that works best on the 32 caliber 94 to 95 year but most
come from the factory spinning them out i spun them in and had great results.
but like julie said if you can try them both and if they need alittle work send them
to THROTTLE-UP!!!!!!!!!!

ok baja 36...you have 25 pitch for sale and another member has 24 pitch for sale. So now my problem is not knowing if I should go with 24's or 25's ! What was your rpms/speeds?

Re: spinelli 25 pitch vs. 24 hydro's

i don't have any props for sale but i would say the 24's would be the pick for that set up
when i had 454's in my 1995 32 caliber i had 24 hydro's on and doing 72 mph.and
turning them in ward!!!!!

I decided to go with the 24 hydro's over the 26 bravo's. I guess I can always sell them if they dont do what I want.

or you could just call Julie on the phone @ Throttle Up Propellers and her about trying some test props. You would have to pay for shipping.

You really think Julie would send him anything after that post? Sounds like just the freight might be a budget concern here.

hey jpclear...I was kidding about the julie crack !...my boat was 60k, I have spent thousands on props in the past ! So if you think "I" can't afford to buy props, you don't know me.........

Hey backatcha, Baja; I didn't mean to touch a nerve. I couldn't even to begin to afford a twin power rig myself. But I do run a Spinelli on my "antique" with very good results. Problem is; Mike (Spinelli) has retired and unless you have one (or a pair) that work for you, you can't get a rework and then they are only worth their weight in stainless steel. --- JP

Re: spinelli 25 pitch vs. 24 hydro's

No problem jp, I did find some spinelli's for sale, but like you said, if I happen to wreck one I'd probably end up with just an expensive paper weight, so i changed my mind on the spinelli's. And as far as buying props, like I said, I have spent thousands in the past on my other boats on props, I just would like to get the deals others get for once ! So if I can finally save some money and not have to buy new props, that would be a nice change. Jim

First let's define your goals. (TOP END, CRUISE etc.)

What are you running on the boat now, make and pitch?

What is your WOT RPM AND SPEED?

How does the boat ride or how does it feel?

With a little info I am sure that we can get you dialed in!

Julie, I found some 24 hydros for sale at a great price, two other members have the same boat and use them on theirs. I live in Milwaukee so trying them out now might be a bit tough, I would need to break the frozen water first! lol if and when I can try them out and they need some fine tuning can you do that?
