Bravo Trim Cylinder Length

I am trying to figure out if My trim Cylinders have the trim limit spacers Mercruiser part # (15768A3) already installed. How long would the cylinders be center to center on the eye when fully extended with or without the spacers installed.I believe that I need to have these installed to prevent damage to the U-joints.The transom assy is a High performance unit.Drive is an XZ.

Thanks
Rob

Re: Bravo Trim Cylinder Length

All of the newer X drives should have the spacers because the newer u-joints doesn't like to bend quite as far, turning or not. If you are careful, you can check for the spacer without to much trouble. Trim the cylinders all the way out against the stop. Tap the switch back in just enough to release the pressure out. Remove the anode and then the end cap and you should see the spacer on the rod inside the cylinder. When I get a chance I will measure the extended length of a cylinder with and without the spacer so you could check without any disassembly.

The cylinder mounting holes measure 27 1/4" center to center.I don't have a spanner wrench ,but I suppose I could make one.
