Damn Strip I just looked at those pics of your buddies Scarab small blocks. I've never seen anything like that on a fresh water boat.

VelocityMike, where those "new" manifolds or just newer than what she had? Water in motor is usually from a fault in the exhuast unless she got something pretty unusual for cams. If your finding it in both motors it might be time to talk to your builder.

Ok guys thanks for the replys but the rust came from inside the engine not the outside. I am going to talk some people about it tommorow. Any more sugestions?

Stainless marine makes a kit for apx. $80 . It is an internal shutter. It is a section of stainless tubing with a weighted stainless flapper with rubberizing. Slice an exh. hose and install with clamps. I've used these on some customers boats. BBB
